If only all education was this entertaining. This is actually pretty informative. I think they should make this a series.

Dr. Martens Celebrates 50 Years With The DM50 Cover Album
Posted on 09. Dec, 2010 by Karri Wells.
I got my first pair of Dr. Martens when I was in 6th grade. It was a really big deal, because they were like $100 – and I bought them with my own money. They made my feet look enormous, because at the time I was nothing but elbows and feet, but I wore them with pride. When I first heard about the DM50 project I started thinking about the kind of music I associated with Dr. Martens, and of course my mind wandered back to the halls of my middle school. During that ‘phase’ I was really into Meatloaf. Luckily, you won’t find a cover of “I Would Do Anything For Love” on this album.
To celebrate their 50th anniversary Dr. Martens produced an album to represent the spirit of the people who’ve worn Dr. Martens over the years. They asked ten artists to record covers of classic songs, then ten directors produced videos to accompany the tracks. All of the songs can be downloaded FOR FREE over at 50.drmartens.com.
Participating Artists Include:
- Verbal + Yoon
- MC5′s Michael Davis + D.O.A
- The Ravonettes
- N.A.S.A
- Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
- The Cinematic Orchestra
- Buraka Som Sistema
- The Duke Spirit
- DaM-FunK
- Noisettes
My favorite so far is the Ravonettes cover of The Stone Roses “I Wanna Be Adored“.

Jedward – Ice Ice Baby (featuring Vanilla Ice)
Posted on 08. Dec, 2010 by Karri Wells.
The song that will never die is back again. Irish duo Jedward puts it’s spin on Vanilla Ice‘s Ice Ice Baby, and Queen‘s Under Pressure. The video even features an appearance by Mr. Ice himself. Anyone else feel like they are watching an F-ed up version of Glee?

Will Ferrell and Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl cover Stevie Nicks’ “Leather and Lace”. Not exactly a musical masterpiece, but entertaining nonetheless.
